TEKsystems Field Services Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana
100% ON-SITE
Description:
Analyze, design and implement new, or modify existing, desktop computing infrastructure to meet ongoing research center needs. The Field Services Engineer will provide in-depth technical and/or business knowledge to handle complex issues and ensure desktop computing infrastructure and implementation meets business requirements, follows industry standards, and maintains data security. This role will apply knowledge of desktop computing infrastructure to meet research center and information management needs for a robust and fault tolerant network.
Note: Role requires long periods of walking and standing up.
The Field Services Engineer will collaborate daily with data scientists and analysts in a team setting as well as 3rd party data providers to drive best practices and identify innovative strategies for successful data product delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that the platform will be robust and scalable in order to handle increasing volumes and demands from data and analytics.
Three or more years of progressive industry experience with ability to support both Windows and MAC operating systems.

• Able to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors.
• Able to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication.
• Thorough understanding of desktop imaging and desktop deployment strategies.
• Interest in learning new technologies and operating systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Experience in research, life sciences, or in data science is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work as part of a global team and, at times, independently while appropriately prioritizing tasks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

This is a backfill for someone who quit. Need to be 100% onsite. Will support campus (multiple buildings) which requires a lot of walking and moving around. MAC experience needed if they need to step in and help service desk with issues that come up. Contract goes through end of year but plan to extend through next year. This will be a solid T2 Tech. 12 people on team but not all in Indy. They have about 1200 PC's to support in Indy.
