The .Net engineer will participate on a scrum team as a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software that are built using Microsoft technologies.

Initially, the .Net developer will join our team with a primary focus on handling service requests and incidents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining .Net applications to support our production systems, ensuring efficient and reliable functionality. This role is a combination of development and support work based on business needs.

This role is a hybrid position with 50% of the time in office in Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Be familiar with current industry tools and processes

  • Be able to contribute to the design as well as the development of software

  • Be able to analyze and explain the effectiveness, quality, and timeliness of design decisions

  • Be able to troubleshoot problems at a systems level, taking into account project requirements as well as customer expectations

  • Be able to explain technical issues to non-technical people

  • Be able to work with both local and geographically distributed teams

  • Be proactive with suggestions for the improvement of existing systems

  • Be able to develop and test software components using current industry tools and processes

  • Be able to provide comprehensive consultation to the product owner and other IT staff at the highest technical level on all phases of the project development cycle

  • Be able to work closely with local and distributed teams (both agile and non-agile)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

  • 4+ years of experience in Microsoft application development (F#, C#, VB.Net, .Net)

  • Be experience in

  • Object-oriented programming and design patterns

  • MSSQL

  • Continuous integration

  • SQL Adjacent technology

  • Entity Framework

  • Unit testing framework

  • .net mobile development

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in an Agile environment is strongly desired.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and efficiently
