Position Description
The RNG Business Development Manager will help drive the growth and expansion of our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) business. A successful candidate will establish and cultivate relationships with key RNG customers and potential customers. This position will also identify new and existing sources of RNG and build partnering relationships with landfills, wastewater treatment plants and other owners/sources of biomethane generation. Further, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing RNG project origination via various entry paths which may include organic development, acquisitions, and alliances.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Establish relationships across the renewable natural gas industry
Locate and propose potential RNG deals by contacting potential partners, discovering, and exploring opportunities, and providing consultative skills to develop customer strategy
Perform valuation analyses, due diligence, identify risks and opportunities, validate assumptions, identify challenges and make recommendations on M&A strategy and expansion
Create presentation materials for internal C-Level Management Team and external audiences (Board of Directors, Lenders etc.)
Assist with the integration of new RNG plants by working diligently with numerous functional leaders of the business
Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of revenue opportunities for business growth.
Meet with prospective landfills to identify future production opportunities
Effectively educate commercial customers on offered products/services
Position Requirements
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree(required), studies in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Finance
Master’s Degree (preferred)
Five (5) + years of experience with specific experience in analyzing and developing new business investment opportunities with customers
Experience in generating new B2B partnerships
A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
Must have well developed oral and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Willingness to travel as needed
Work collaboratively, as well as independently
Demonstrated leadership with strong presentation skills and the ability to influence a wide range of audiences
Perform market and competitor analysis
