Full-Time Athletic Trainer - Iraan General Hospital District/Iraan-Sheffield Independent School District
Iraan, Texas Job Description: Hospital Based Sports Medicine program is supervised by the Hospital Rehab Director. The trainer will be assigned to the local school to support all sports within the District. Candidate will assist in planning, coordinating and supervising all components of athletic training for student athletes. Duties will include prevention, evaluation, emergency treatment, physical reconditioning and rehabilitation of injuries. Trainer will work with hospital based physical therapist and medical professionals to ensure student athletes are appropriately assessed, treated and returned to wellness.
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree Valid License from Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers New graduates are welcome
Duties and Responsibilities: Provide prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of all student athletes. Provide appropriate medical coverage for athletic practices and games. Establishing and maintaining effective communication with students, parents, medical personnel, coaches and staff. Respond to emergencies. Assist with establishment of specific procedures to be carried out by a coach or student trainer in the event of a medical emergency. Coordinate scheduling of athlete physicals and screenings. Supervise student assistants as needed. Maintain all physical records and other documents including medical, accident and treatment records. Maintain training facilities and required inventory.
