IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Production Control, Shipping & Receiving, Material handlers, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Inventory Manager
DIRECTS: Material Handlers
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Manage the facilities inventory. Provide direction to Warehouse staff.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Continually monitor, correct, update inventory as required by ensuring the accuracy between ERP system records and physical parts inventory. Areas of review include bin location accuracy, shop order consumption issues, procedural errors or changes and coding errors. Monitor cycle counting program within plant. Analyze obsolete inventory and recommend disposition (convert, disassemble, return to vendor, scrap etc.) Identify cost reduction, process improvement opportunities and lead these initiatives to achieve positive results. Act as a direct resource for annual physical inventories. Coordinate with Inventory Manager. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
Five (5) years experience in Materials Procurement, Production or Inventory Control with three (3) years supervisory and management experience required. Understanding of the business side of manufacturing, warehousing and inventory control practices and procedures required. Must possess good oral and written communications skills. Prior experience in a Government contracting/subcontracting environment helpful.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform duties both inside the facility and outside during all seasons. Must be able to acquire forklift certification. Must be able to lift, bend, push, pull up to 25 lbs individually and/or up to 50lbs as a team.
