Burton Industries Electronics Test Technician in Ironwood, Michigan
SUMMARY Ensures the reliability of products through the analysis, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems at various stages of the productions process as well as the development of test apparatus and methods to prove that functionality and design meet industry and customer specifications.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILTIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
TEST
- Tests the functional performance of systems, subassemblies and parts to identify and correct defects and malfunctions.
- Reads test schedules, job folders, schematics, etc. to determine test procedures and equipment to be used.
- Utilizes test instruments to test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts.
- Interprets results of tests based on dials and digital displays and compares with customer specifications or industry standards.
- Records test data or plots results on graph.
- Must also be able to program boards.
BUILD
Constructs and utilizes test fixtures and procedures to identify malfunctions and correct failed assemblies.
Assembles experimental circuitry or completed prototype models.
Identifies and recommends changes to simplify assembly and its maintenance.
Build and maintain test equipment and fixtures
Analyzes and interprets test data
Troubleshoots fails assemblies and adjusts, calibrates, aligns and modifies circuitry and components
DESIGN
Identifies malfunctions and coordinates with engineering staff on continuous improvement methods for effective fixtures and procedures to assure the production of error free components and assemblies.
Devises test equipment setup and executes test methods and procedures
Loads codes and software into programming devices and programs components or assemblies.
Offers input and assistance on layout and assembly procedures and problems to engineering staff

Flex: Electronic/Mechanical Prep and Assembly
Machine Operation (PNP, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, Testers, AOI)
RESPONSIBLILITY FOR QUALITY
The employee has the responsibility for quality as specified in the Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions and any verbal or written instructions. These responsibilities include:
Ensure compliance to ISO requirements
Initiate action to prevent occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
Verify the implementation of solutions.
Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Employees will insure their conformance to customer requirements documented and set forth in the job folders. Industry standards are to be used and followed to supplement the customer information.
