As a Principal Quality Engineer in Operations Quality OC Campus (Irvine, Santa Ana, San Juan Capistrano), you will be responsible for the following 4 functions:
Receiving Inspection process support
In-Process Inspection process support
Sterile Release process support
Internal Supplier Controls support
To drive the synergies across the 3 sites that exist in Orange County under Vascular Therapies Implants and Drug and Chemistry Technologies, we are introducing the OC Campus Strategy, which will include the harmonization of all Orange County manufacturing campuses including:
• Santa Ana – Surgical Valve and Transcatheter Valve,
• Irvine – Stroke/Aneurysm and Embolization
• San Juan Capistrano (Avenu) – Ellipsis Vascular Access System and Power Controller
The vision of the OC Campus is to accomplish harmonized standards and process amongst the sites.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Responsible for the following 4 functions: Receiving Inspection process support, In-Process Inspection process support, Sterile Release process support and Internal Supplier Controls support
Developing, changing, or modifying Inspection Test Methods
Developing and Performing Test Method Validations
Driving and executing process improvements
Collaborating with multiple OUs and Supplier Quality to provide inspection process support
Owning and Driving NCMR/CAPA resolution in impacted supported areas
Must Have: Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements and your permanent address are evident on your resume.
May have broad knowledge of project management.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have: Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following skills, experiences, and certifications.
Strong experience supporting Receiving Inspection and Manufacturing Line Support (Operations Quality)
Strong experience in Supplier Quality
Experience leading/mentoring teams of engineers and/or inspectors
Strong Knowledge developing and implementing Test Methods, as well as TMVs
Lean Six Sigma/DRM Knowledge
Strong process improvement mindset
QAD ERP Experience
Tier Management Experience
Knowledge using and implementing various Vision Systems for inspection, preferably Keyence
Working knowledge of Quality System Regulation (QSR 21 CFR 820)
Understanding of Risk Management in accordance with ISO 14971
Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 requirements

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$116,000 - $174,000
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
