The Production Control Coordinator reports to the Production Control Supervisor within the Supply Chain department. Their primary purpose is to ensure that all production or manufacturing schedules are on time by coordinating with different departments and outside vendors. Issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor as according to the production schedule.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)

  • Select appropriate testing material, create testing purchase orders and enter data into Business system.

  • Collect test samples to send to suppliers/vendors in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate testing priorities with production, sales, engineering and quality departments.

  • Maintain close relation with suppliers/vendors by following up on ECDs and providing priority changes.

  • Keep testing status reports up to date and provide accurate status as requested.

  • Work with production, engineering, quality and sales departments and suppliers/vendors to resolve any quality non-conformance.

  • Keep current on status of purchase orders and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with vendor/suppliers.

  • Respond in a timely manner to ongoing changes to production priorities and customer requirements.

  • Review and manage invoices in a timely manner.

  • Assist with writing standard operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Purchasing OR Logistics experience

  • Experience working with vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with machining processes

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints

  • Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing setting

  • Purchasing experience with outside vendor management experience OR Exposure to metals and materials testing

  • Exposure to testing and heat treatment processes

  • Exposure to testing material

Knowledge of:

  • Understanding of ERP/MRP and planning systems

Skilled in:

  • Above average with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Attention to detail

  • Critical evaluation and thinking

Ability to:

  • Lift 50lbs.

  • Be detail orientated and exhibit a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality

  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced ever-changing environment

  • Maintain ethical practice

Pay Range: $28-$33/per hour
