Regional Commercial Banking Manager

The Regional Commercial Banking Manager leads a team of Commercial Banking Relationship Managers and/or Business Banking Relationship Managers dedicated to sourcing new deposit and lending relationships in an assigned market area. This role is responsible for the achievement of financial objectives while maintaining disciplined credit underwriting and risk management practices. The Commercial Banking Manager executes and delivers required business goals, performance results, and growth strategies to serve affiliates and other commercial clients. In addition, the role will be required to build relationships with internal business partners to maximize employee success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively recruits and hires excellent team members within the region and ensures that all team members are working with integrity.

  • Works with senior management to establish deposit, loan, and fee goals and allocates those goals to the team members within the region.

  • Responsible for recommending pricing and credit structures for commercial loan structures.

  • Responsible for identifying and understanding credit issues, and developing expertise for targeted markets or industries that may provide opportunities for expanded loan and deposit growth.

  • Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of high quality commercial operations projects and engagement, motivation, and development of team.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Additional Information

  • This role will manage a team of relationship managers and will be responsible for originating new commercial loans and deposits in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) space focusing on working capital lines of credit, equipment finance, and owner-occupied real estate.

  • Region: Irvine, CA

  • Travel Requirement: 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Commercial Lending Officer in the C&I space

  • Experience with sponsor finance and/or companies with private equity ownership

  • Prior management experience

  • Knowledge of commercial credit, banking products is essential

  • Analytical/technical skills including understanding of Cash and Accrual Financial Statements & modeling

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Pay Range $170,000 to $230,000
