Senior Director US Field, Global Health Economics Reimbursement is a field-based role responsible for leading a field-based team with overall responsibility of developing systems, planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending, and implementing changes to methods through leadership.

The Senior Director Field, Global Health Economics and Reimbursement will be located in the western portion of the US with access to a major airport and will support the central to western US. This position will report to the VP US Field, Global Health Economics and Reimbursement.

How you will make an impact:

  • Plan and direct strategic activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Lead in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies, best practices, alternative solutions, resolving issues in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams.

  • Analyze, formulate and present recommendations to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication.

  • Demonstrate ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of health, econ, and reimbursement to the business

  • Support the development of strategy and direction for a US THV field team in alignment with strategic plans established by top management and executive leadership

  • Ability to direct and lead the activities of their field team

  • Coach/mentor team members, including dotted line reports as necessary. Align team members in roles to best take advantage of their strengths and to grow/diversify their skill sets

  • Participate and promote team member participation on cross functional and/or inter-organizational teams. Frequently lead such teams or task groups especially when the scope is broad and/or the issue complex.

  • Proven track record to lead, inspire, and motivate a team and drive performance via clear communication of objectives and performance towards objectives

  • Collaborate with senior management to define objectives and results assessed from a relatively long-term perspective.

  • Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

  • Ability to develop relationships and leverage them to influence change across the organization and amongst our administrative and clinical customers

  • Building and execution of a robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across the global health, econ & reimbursement organization.

  • Mitigate/eliminate risk, direct and communicate highly complex health, econ & reimbursement strategies which includes negotiations with internal and external parties.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a life science, health economics, health

policy, or related field with related experience and 12+ years of experience in health policy, health economics, medical device reimbursement and technology assessment OR Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in a field base, consultative, or administrative role within the healthcare industry, preferably Reimbursement and/or account management/sales experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to support programs and for internal meetings and conferences.

  • Proven successful project management leadership skills

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

  • Ability to articulate a thorough understanding of the structural heart landscape, trends and market insights. A strong understanding of the commercial and government payor landscape including coverage policies and payment processes. This will include managing and addressing coverage policy issues with payors as necessary.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and experience working with various internal business partners (especially Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and Government Affairs staff) to provide insight into key economic and reimbursement issues for transcatheter heart valve products.

  • Highly skilled in working with customers (primarily hospitals executives and physicians), health plans, professional and medical organizations and ability to develop mutually beneficial health economics and reimbursement strategies and tactics to support portfolio planning, commercialization, and sales/marketing objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of hospital finances and specifically Cardiovascular Service Line functions and operations

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial insurance landscape and relevant reimbursement processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

For California/Colorado/ Washington, the base pay range for this position is $199,000 to $282,000(highly experienced).

The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
