ADVANCED ELECTRICAL AND MOTOR CONTROLS CAD (Computer Aided Design) Designer / Drafter in IRVING, Texas

JOB SUMMARY
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
The CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Drafter is responsible for creating technical drawings, plans, and models using CAD software to support engineering and design projects. This role involves collaborating with engineers, and other stakeholders to translate concepts into detailed designs and documentation. The CAD Drafter ensures accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely completion of design deliverables to meet project requirements and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software based on project requirements, specifications, and guidelines.
- Generate 2D and 3D models, layouts, and assemblies to visualize design concepts and communicate design intent effectively.
- Collaborate with engineers, and project stakeholders to understand design requirements, review concepts, and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
- Participate in design reviews, meetings, and discussions to ensure alignment with project goals, standards, and objectives.
- Prepare documentation packages, including drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications, to support manufacturing, construction, and installation processes.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all design documentation.
- Assist in modifying and revising existing designs, drawings, and models based on feedback, change requests, or design updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain version control, track revisions, and document design changes to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Perform quality checks, verifications, and validations of design outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to design standards and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, codes, standards, and best practices in design and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in CAD software tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar programs used for 2D and 3D design and drafting.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5), and industry-specific design practices.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new software tools, technologies, and design methodologies to stay updated in the field of CAD design.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS REQUIRED
Attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in creating and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
