Maintains kitchen work areas and equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Regular attendance in conformance with the policies established by ASM Global is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Dish Machine Operator is responsible and accountable for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Additionally, dishwashers are expected to keep dishwashing areas clean and safe.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine.

  • Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes properly in the three bay sink as directed.

  • Manually wash pots and equipment that cannot be run through dish machine.

  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine.

  • Unload dishes and utensils from dish machine and organize them properly.

  • Empty trash containers regularly.

  • Sweep, mop, and remove trash, recycling, and compost from all unit areas as needed and during assigned times.

  • Service unit dining rooms. Aid in cleaning and sanitizing tables and chairs as needed.

  • Clean and sanitize high touchpoints in the dining room, front-of-house, and back-of-house.

  • Take and Document temperatures of the dish machine and three bay sink on an hourly basis.

  • Record and test every red sanitizer solution bucket’s strength every 4 hours or when it becomes soiled.

  • Change every green soapy water buckets every 2 hours or when needed.

  • Perform additional cleaning duties as requested.

  • Communicate often, clearly, and professionally with co-works and management.

  • Uphold all required safety, service, and hygiene protocols.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, previous work experience would be beneficial.

    Other Qualifications

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

    Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Working Conditions

  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and heat.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Irregular hours dictated by events.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. (minimal). Must be able to reach over your head, stand for long periods of time, occasional squatting, frequent bending, and conduct repetitive motion, such as chopping, stirring, and mixing. Must be able to withstand frequent/continuous exposure to temperature changes and a variety of environmental and sensory impacts, including but not limited to cold, heat, steam, smoke, slippery floors, and food waste areas. Must be comfortable and able to use kitchen equipment, as well as be able to learn the utilization of advanced cooking equipment as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

Hourly Wage Range: $16.50 - $18.50/hour
