BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for Power Electronics Engineer

Responsibilities

· Provide technical supports for current production and new product launches.

· Follows the arrival of the returned products from customers, production line or laboratory tests.

· Plan the analysis activities and perform the required and necessary tests in order to determine the root cause of the problem by preparing all technical data and reporting to headquarter.

· Records the claims in the database.

· Hold regular meetings with headquarter and internal departments to share the status of analysis.

· Follows the 8D reporting and informs headquarter.

· Analyze the recorded data and interpret the results to manager.

· Keeps under control the area of his/her resonsibility according to 7S rules.

· Assist and support IQC and SQE temas for supplier technical issues.

· Assist and support design teams for continuous improvement of product.

· Follows and ensures strict safety procedures and safety checks with his/her team.

· Follows time plans and ensures on-time results.

· Development and implementation of concepts for design, EMC, as well as electrical and functional safety (ISO26262).

· Review customer requirement specification, standards or other documents with hardware specific requirements as well as derive hardware architectures and specifications.

· Realize analog and digital circuit tolerance and worst case simulations.

· Develop design verification test plans, safety and standards compliance test plans.

· Support power system technologists in testing, tuning and solving power system hardware issue.

· Troubleshoot and root cause product field failures of in-house developed electronic products – including but not limited to physical inspection and testing of failed units, reviewing data logs and correlating with product specifications to compare against expected behavior, reviewing manufacturing and installation processes for cause of failure.

· Perform all duties in a professional, timely and efficient manner within prescribed time and budget limitations.

· Keep current with the latest advancements in technology and design/simulation tools within areas of expertise.

· Perform debugging and testing activities on test benches.

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

· BS/MS Degree in Electrical Electronical Engineering

· 3 to 10 years experience

· High-frequency power electronics, power and control board HW design (min 4 layer), converter topologies, wide-band-gap semiconductors.

· Power electronics topologies knowledge. (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC), switching waveforms and their impact on products.

· Experience and capable in evaluating and deciding on a power converter topology, choose or design the required components and create a schematic and layout overview.

· EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards.

· Power Semiconductor knowledge. (MOSFET, IGBT, SIC, GaN etc.)

· High Power DC/AC motor systems knowledge.

· High Voltage/High Current knowledge.

· Communication Protocols knowledge (CAN, LIN, SPI, UART, RS232, etc.).

· Experience on operating laboratory equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electrical loads, etc.
