. Job Purpose
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the engineering support needed by operations to meet business objectives is available and utilized according to agreed upon priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Engineering in material selection for major rod forms and sheet metal forms as well as powder coating said forms.
Support Engineering in selection of methodologies for wire bending, cutting, and welding. Steel stamping, cutting, and forming.
Assist in the design of tooling for all metal fabricated forms both in flat steel and rod production.
Assist in assessment and requisition of new equipment for rod and sheet metal fabrication.
Assist in development of new products and new product lines to meet objectives of the Sales and Marketing teams.
Implement new product production processes along with the introduction of new equipment.
Identify and implement product quality improvement in existing metal production processes and powder coating processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
5+ years machine design experience.
Proficient with CAD systems – Autodesk and Solid Works preferred.
Ability to take projects from inception through to production and completion.
Strong leadership characteristics.

Keen understanding of manufacturing processes.
