This is a job for an Assistant Plant Manager located with a company in the Jackson, MS area.
Job Summary: The Assistant Plant Manager will supervise production and employees, including subordinate department lead workers and associates. Generally responsible for production in the manufacturing operations of the plant.
Responsibilities: Enforce safety procedures for safe operation of equipment and work area. Maintain individual and department performance at established standards. Ensure production levels and productivity goals are achieved. Maintain daily reports, including but not limited to production work schedules, inventory (raw materials and finished goods), Maintain high level of quality of product being sent to customers. Hire, train, and discipline employees as a means for achieving goals. Overseeing day to day plant operation, identifying problems and developing and implementing corrective and preventative measures. Planning, scheduling of operations to meet objectives with optimum efficiency. Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication and collaboration. Implement processes, systems, new technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the plant. Follow production performance and troubleshoot any issues offering potential solutions. Build employee commitment and ownership, while holding employees accountable. Drive change through challenging the status quo and focusing on continual improvement. Lead the continuous improvement effort by driving the action planning process. Ensure issues are identified and tasks developed with ownership and due dates to ensure accountability at the appropriate level. Understand and teach key performance indicators that are essential to the business. Provide routine and specialized training to employees as required.
Qualifications: Previous manufacturing management experience, leadership, and employee relations skills. 4 years plus at an earlier manufacturing industry. Must have a bachelor's degree (Preference given for Business Administration or Engineering/Technical Management).
