Jacobs Civil Engineering Intern - Aviation - Summer 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of senior staff to perform quantity takeoffs, computer modeling in AutoCAD, design calculations, and plan set production for military and commercial airfields including, but not limited to, such disciplines as earthwork, pavements, and drainage.

  • Work closely on project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group.

  • Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.

  • Complete assignments as assigned (prepare calculations, reports, etc.)

  • Participate in project meetings.

  • Participate in Jacobs’ summer intern program to grow your professional network.

Who you are:

  • Able to analyze and solve problems

  • Able to work with a diverse and integrated team

  • Possess excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Able to demonstrate initiative and curiosity to complete assignments on time

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program;

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, pptx)

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Interest in a career in civil engineering at airports
