Position Overview:

The Warehouse Material Handler and Logistics professional is responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in the warehouse. This role ensures that materials are accurately accounted for, properly stored, and available for delivery in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.

  • Verify quantities and item descriptions against purchase orders.

  • Report and document any discrepancies or damages.

  1. Material Handling and Storage:
  • Safely unload and move materials within the warehouse.

  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport materials.

  • Store goods in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and labeling.

  1. Inventory Management:
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliations.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management software.

  • Assist in cycle counting and year-end inventory audits.

  1. Order Fulfillment:
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications.

  • Ensure accurate and timely order processing.

  • Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickups and deliveries.

  1. Shipping and Receiving Documentation:
  • Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.

  • Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Update the warehouse management system with shipping and receiving information.

  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  1. Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on warehouse equipment.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervisor.

  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

  • Assist with training new warehouse employees.

  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.

  • Suggest process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role preferred (Not required)

  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment ( can obtain once hired)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse setting.

  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.

  • May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
