Autry's Self Storage Storage Facility Rental Clerk in Jacksonville, North Carolina

Autrys Self Storage seeks to fill a clerk position. The clerk performs routine skilled work, performing maintenance and basic clean up duties; provides administrative work and customer service; does other related work at a self storage facility. This is a part-time, no benefits position.

Essential Tasks

  • Greet and provides customers with information;
  • Answers in-coming telephone calls using best customer service practices, provides information, assists with customer needs;
  • Collects funds from customers, verifies all funds, and makes daily deposit;
  • Enters data into data bases, spreadsheets or word process software;
  • Cleans and performs simple maintenance around facility grounds;
  • Prepares and maintains storage units;
  • Picks up litter around grounds;
  • Assists in general repairs to buildings and facility;
  • Does general maintenance as required;
  • Performs other clerical, administrative, and maintenance tasks as assigned;
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include (3) three Saturdays a month.

Special Requirements

  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid North Carolina Drivers License.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.

Physical Requirements Hearing/Speaking

  • Must be able to communicate with the customers.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and have a voice with enough volume to be heard over the other noises of the facility.
  • Must be able to communicate with supervisor in person and by telephone.

Visual Abilities - the ability to perceive via eyesight is required for this position:

Acuity, far - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Must be able to see at a distance to observe the activities and ensure safety for the participants. Both eyes 20/25 - R 20/30 - L 20/30 corrected

Acuity, near - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Must be able to see close so as to work with forms, and reports and physically assist participants. Both eyes 20/22 corrected

Depth Perception - Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are. Must be able to judge distances so as to know exactly how near or far a participant is for safety purposes. Depth Perception - 4
