We are looking for a talented Product Validation Engineering Technician 1st Shift to join our team specializing in Engineering , Bussiness Segment in James Town, NY

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Description

  • Functions as a Team Lead and/or has specialized knowledge to create and maintain specifications (drawings and models) of Cummins products per company, industry, national, and international standards, while positively impacting the organization's performance

  • Create Master CAD Models which are used to generate part tooling.

  • Participates in the maintenance of standards and practices which ensure quality.

  • Check models and drawings prior to release.

  • Works with engineering to generate concept models.

  • Ability to perform all of the key responsibilities of the Product Design Technician Level III.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

  • Product Configuration and Change Management - Establishes a baseline of identified product artifacts to be placed under configuration management; releases, tracks, controls and communicates changes from concept to obsolescence often through work requests; establishes and maintains the integrity of the product artifact baselines.

  • Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis - Creates Computer Aided Design models in accordance with Cummins' standards to represent architectural or product level system design concepts, and to enable completion of various system-level computer analyses such as Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two two-year associate degrees from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Specific Candidate Requirements:

  • Applicant to have formal education or experience using the following principles below:

  • Statics/Mechanics/Dynamics analysis

  • Strength of Materials

  • Thermodynamics

  • Fluid Dynamics

  • Mathematics including Calculus and Differential Equations

  • Advanced computer skills are necessary.

  • Effective communication is necessary using multi-mode communications across cross-functional teams.

  • Quality and timely decision-making that keeps the organization moving forward.

  • Applicant to be self-driven and actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
