Substitute Cafeteria Workers and Lunch-time Helpers Needed for the West Jefferson Hills School District.
Prefer the candidates are flexible enough to work at any of the schools in the district, but it's OK if they can only work in one or two of the district's schools. These are day-to-day substitute positions. If the candidates are already working, these positions are often flexible enough to supplement the candidates' schedules. The potential for work each day increases if the candidates are open to working in any of the schools in the district, however, there is often steady work and openings to be filled every day in every school. Cafeteria hours usually fall between the hours of 9:00am - 2pm, however, there can be some morning shift work available to assist with breakfast offered at the schools.
Lunch-time monitors typically work in the elementary schools and assist as cafeteria or student monitors helping students navigate the lunch line, opening containers, or helping maintain safe conditions during recess.
It is preferred the qualified candidates have reliable transportation as most schools in the district are not easily accessible by bus.
- Cafeteria workers: $14/hr
Lunch-time Helpers: $12/hr
Clearances required within the last year:
PA Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI fingerprints through the Dept. of Education
- Act 126 Clearance (online Mandated Reporter training)
- Arrest/Conviction Record form (Act 24) and Act 168 clearance (Precision will provide these forms for the candidates to complete)
- Pre-employment physical and TB test required (neither should be more than 1 year old)

Additional Requirements:
- Must have at least a HS diploma or GED
- While it is preferred candidates have some experience in food service and/or customer service, it's not required. Some training will be offered prior to starting as a substitute employee.
