Mukuru 1st Line IT OPS Support Engineer in Johannesburg, South Africa

The Mukuru IT OPS Support Team is expanding, and we are excited to announce a new opportunity for 1st Line IT OPS Support Engineers in Rosebank. This role reports to the ITOPS Support Lead and involves supporting business end users, maintaining desktop operating systems, and performing general maintenance on all IT-related hardware and software. This role offers exposure to a variety of IT-related projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving software issues (operating systems, MS Office, Office 365, etc.).

  • Troubleshooting hardware problems on laptops, conference units, desktops, monitors, and headsets.

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.

  • Resolving system and network issues.

  • Assisting staff with system setups or troubleshooting via face-to-face or phone communication.

  • Managing user accounts, profiles, and password issues.

  • Logging all user incidents and requests in the service management system.

  • Responding to call-outs within agreed time frames.

  • Providing desktop and network support to Mukuru customers as part of the team.

  • Setting up workstations and peripherals for end-users.

  • Replacing desktop components as needed.

  • Ensuring continuous application of software updates and patches.

  • Providing technical support for meetings, both in-office and offsite.

  • Testing and evaluating new technologies.

  • Training staff on using hardware and software systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MCP/A+/N+/M365 Certification or equivalent.

  • 4-6 years of experience in desktop support/Tier 1 IT support.

  • Experience administering and supporting Microsoft AD and/or Entra ID.

  • Proficiency in installing and supporting desktop operating systems and Office 365 applications.

  • Skills in troubleshooting desktops, printers, and network issues.

  • Ability to manage antivirus and security concerns.

  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

  • Attention to detail and adherence to policies.

  • Strong team player with a proactive approach.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Reliable transportation (essential).

  • Quick learner capable of handling pressure.

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management.

  • Ability to prioritize eFectively and take decisive actions.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
