Maintenance Technician III HVAC, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician III HVAC to join our WMC Facilities Maintenance department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

$25.12 - $35.87 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview

Maintenance Technician - HVAC under general direction provides operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of secondary components HVAC equipment and all fixed and non-fixed, non-patient care HVAC equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs. This position also supports all areas of the Hospital maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

• The Maintenance Technician - HVAC also performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties for the hospital’s Plant Operations and Facilities Services Department, and is assigned to work for the Supervisor of Facilities Services. In addition, the Maintenance Technician - HVAC may be called upon to lead a group of workers on a project, teach maintenance skills to other members of the department, review work of outside vendors to report on discrepancies, as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Minimum Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Four (4) years experience in operational level maintenance and engineering.

  • Demonstrated experience at the Maintenance Technician II level

  • Preferred:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Two (2) years skilled trades experience or trade school.

License/Certification

  • Minimum Required:

  • Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire/promotion.

  • Must possess valid drivers license

  • Preferred:

  • Not Applicable

In lieu of the above minimum requirements, an equivalent combination of experience and certification that fall within the limits of minimum requirements and preferred will be considered.
