Robert Half Payroll Staff Accountant in Johnson City, Tennessee

Description

We are in the hunt for a skilled Payroll Staff Accountant to join our team based in Johnson City, Tennessee. The selected candidate will be tasked with handling payroll responsibilities for a substantial number of employees across multiple locations. This role will involve working with various aspects of the payroll process, including commissions, bonuses, sick leave calculations, and tax deductions.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the payroll processing for numerous employees across different locations

• Work with commissions, bonuses, and other additional payments

• Calculate and manage sick leave and Paid Time Off (PTO) for employees

• Verify that employees are set up correctly in the system for tax deductions

• Handle garnishments and ensure they are processed correctly

• Verify I9's and maintain accurate records

• Perform regular audits on the payroll process

• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Use ADP and Microsoft Excel for various payroll tasks

• Utilize skills in Benefit Functions, Payroll - Multi-State, Payroll Taxes, Garnishment Calculations, and Process Improvement.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator

• University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required

• Proficient knowledge of ADP - Financial Services and ADP - Payroll

• Skilled in using ADP Workforce Now

• Experience with Microsoft Excel is essential

• Understands Benefit Functions

• Experienced in handling Payroll - Multi-State and Payroll Taxes

• Ability to perform Garnishment Calculations proficiently

• Knowledge of Garnishments, Payroll - Garnishments, Process Garnishments is required

• Strong skills in Process Improvement

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
