    Job Summary:

    As a Shipping Manager, you would be responsible for efficient operations within our egg processing plant by supervising staff and managing daily shipping activities in our sites. This position works closely with the Business Unit Leaders (BUL’s), Processing Managers and Feed Mill Managers. The Shipping Manager will ensure the completion of shipment requirements in a timely and accurate manner, while maintaining a safe working environment.

    Essential Duties:
  • Manage and maintain staff schedules for 17-18 staff members.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and coordinate movements of personnel, packaging, products and equipment.

  • Work within the processing plant needs to schedule shipment efficiency.

  • Be on the job trainer, manage and maintain clean coolers, Dry Docks, and accurate inventories for both products and packaging.

  • Liaison with purchasing on deliveries, trailers, updates, loads and unloads.

  • Liaison with Planning coordinators on order placement and recovery.

  • Liaison with support services/management for regular updates on equipment challenges or needs to maintain driver pool.

  • Ability to train and coordinate multifaceted group of shippers, drivers, yard coordinators.

  • Ability to load trucks, cover shifts when needed to maintain staffing levels.

  • Ability to maintain accurate safety trainings and records.

  • Skills- Must be able to track weekly man hours, use of Microsoft office, Slack communication, ASN reporting.

  • 50 to 60 hours a week avg.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Prefer 3 - 5 years of experience in shipping, loading dock operations, food cooler operations, etc.

  • Significant experience leading a team

  • Must have experience loading trucks and working with truck drivers

  • Must have experience analyzing bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents.

  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Must have experience working with pallet jacks and forklift.

  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

  • Ability to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments (This position will be based in our Cooler), walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
