Army National Guard Units ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0872P01 and is part of the PA Army Aviation Support Facility 2, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Responsibilities As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-2610-12, you will performs operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting on electronic integrated systems composed of a number of sensor subsystems: Integrated Vehicle Health Management System (IVHMS), the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), the Improved Countermeasure Dispenser System (ICMD), the Night Vision Goggle System (NVG), the Air Data Subsystem, the Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) and Doppler/GPS Navigation System (DGNS), Command Instrument Set (CIS) ; a logic subsystem-- the Multiplex Data Bus System (MUX), the Multiplex Remote Terminal Units (MRTU), Data Link Terminal Units (DLTU), and Digital Automatic Flight Control System (DAFCS); and actuating subsystems--, and the Digital Automatic Stabilization System (DASS), which includes the Stability Augmentation System (SAS) and Command Augmentation System (CAS) and Hover Augmentation System (HAS). Complete operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of Line Replaceable Units (LRU). Complete bench check, testing, repair, inspection, modification, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignment, and analyzing of LRUs and shop replaceable units. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary. When designated on NGB Flying Status Orders, serves as member of flight crew for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Guide lower level mechanics in the performance of duties. Process and account for due-in supply assets. Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained and that funds are not obligated for material or parts without proper justification. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations such as Operational Readiness Evaluations (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections (CLRT-X), and Aviation Resource Management Surveys. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Army Aviation Support Facility 2 AOC 2: NG employees in the State Army Aviation Office (This includes AASF 1, AASF 2, and EAATS) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently service in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG Military Grades: WARRANT OFFICER: WO1-CW4 ENLISTED: E1-E9 Supervisor for this position is CW4 Patrick GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies. Thorough knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. They shall not be eligible for retirement contributions, participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, or a supplemental or redetermined annuity for the employment period.
