The team you will be a part of

The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.

This role in summary

We are looking for a buyer of Capex Tooling & Equipment as part Project Management in the Procurement team to serve all Whirlpool Categories (Refrigeration, Laundry, Dishwasher, Cooking, Microwave Oven and Air Conditioner) to support all LAR South (Brazil and Argentina operations) and report to a local manager.

The Buyer collaborates closely with other departments such as manufacturing, engineering, and legal to understand requirements and make informed purchasing decisions. Additionally, this role may involve maintaining relationships with suppliers, monitoring market trends, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Negotiate commercial terms such as price, payment terms, delivery time and schedule with suppliers mapped and technically approved

  • Drive strategy in your space considering main KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, etc)

  • Scout new suppliers for assure minimum 3 suppliers in all quotations

  • Prepare and manage RFQs thru GS3 Quotation Portal

  • Negotiate clauses to sign Contracts with suppliers having support of Legal Team

  • Drive and implement cost reduction strategies

  • Make presentations to higher level leadership

  • Support engineering and manufacture team by being main commercial contact with suppliers

  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporate, suppliers and factory levels to execute sourcing strategies

  • Accountable for developing & executing a Category Sourcing Strategy plan with price target on the negotiations

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering

  • Excellent English skills (both written and spoken).

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Communication Skills to intermediate commercial discussions and mediate divergences

  • Experience in procurement, supply chain or business

  • Cost management skills

  • Experience in Capex and/or Indirect Procurement

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Procurement

  • Experience in Procurement

  • Demonstrate practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles

  • Negotiation, conflict resolution and management skills

  • Manage and prioritize multiple activities

  • Financial Management and forecasting

  • Self-driven approach towards deliveries and a good team player

  • SAP knowledge

  • Office/Google main tools knowledge

  • Technical background

  • Build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and suppliers

  • Driven individual with a vision and work ethic required for future growth

  • Spanish skills to communicate an understanding
