Inventory Clerk (10:00pm-6:30am) (Sun.-Thurs.)
MSC is growing—and going—strong. We seek a team player who thrives in a fast-moving environment to perform daily receiving tasks, inspect shipments and verify correct items and quantities.
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
You will have a hands-on role in our warehouse to ensure delivery of our vast product line to our valued customers.
Operates advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e., turret truck and/or order picker).
Verifies products using item numbers, descriptions, and quantity.
Scans labels into warehouse computer system.
Identifies items using visual inspections, reference manuals or measuring instruments.
Counts items.
Updates warehouse computer systems using warehouse specific commands and functions.
Enters data to generate accurate department reports.
Cycle counts bins as required.
Counts: audit trails, overstock trails and bin to zero trail.
Alerts supervisor regarding items that look out of place.
Performs to specified productivity and quality expectations.
Participates in work clean program.
Performs all duties within safety guidelines.
Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP’s.
Engages in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.
Assists department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.
Validates Inventory Reports (i.e. adjustment reports, packslip modifications, bin difference and out of balance reports).
Returns merchandise to stock (i.e., overages to shipping, dropped items, misplaced items, etc.)
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
Loads, unloads, moves product by hand or skid.
Operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and/or forklift).
Visually inspects boxes and product for damage or improper packaging.
Puts away product into bins, overstock or racks.
Removes/cleans refuse from various warehouse departments.
In order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be temporarily re-assigned to other warehouse functions.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.SKILLS:Basic computer skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting, standing, walking, lifting materials (maximum 75 pounds – individual or team lift), carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, climbing using legs and arms, balancing, stooping, kneeling, repeated bends, reaching high and low, and repetitive twisting or pressure, involving wrist and hands. Hearing, seeing (including depth perception and peripheral vision), ability of mental coordination. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required for position. Must be able to operate at heights up to 50 feet. Mentally alert for entire shift.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to work overtime to meet customer’s needs.
Must obtain internal certification to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.
