Adecco US, Inc. Maintenance Electrician 1st Shift in Joplin, Missouri
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues, ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. This role includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Diagnostics & Repair : Identify and analyze mechanical and electrical problems with machinery and equipment. Plan and execute corrective actions to maintain smooth production operations.
Preventive Maintenance : Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on equipment, documenting findings and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Tool & Parts Maintenance : Repair small tools and maintain an inventory of parts, initiating purchase orders when inventory levels are low.
Mechanical & Electrical Repairs : Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
Welding & Installation : Perform welding tasks as required for machinery repairs and installations, including structural and equipment-related welding.
Electrical System Repairs : Assist with complex electrical repairs, including circuit analysis, wiring diagram interpretation, and calibration of electrical devices and systems.
Electronic Equipment Maintenance : Service electronic components such as printed circuit boards and circuits by performing tests and replacing faulty components.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance : Carry out scheduled maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and other critical production tools.
Operational Support & Training : Advise and educate operators and mechanics on electrical hazards and preventive measures. Support training initiatives to enhance overall safety and efficiency.
Tooling & Equipment Management : Maintain records of repairs on equipment, including forklifts and cranes, and ensure proper installation and leveling of new machinery.
Plumbing & General Maintenance : Perform basic plumbing repairs related to building maintenance, handling liquids and gases as necessary.
Parts & Supply Management : Initiate orders for parts, tools, and supplies through the purchase order system, ensuring efficient operation and minimal downtime.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Education & Experience : High school diploma or GED, with completion of trade school or equivalent training. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, equipment, and tooling within a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical & Electrical Expertise : Ability to perform general mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance, including repairs on forklifts, small tools, trucks, and shop machinery. Basic understanding of electrical systems and experience with shop equipment maintenance is required.
Welding Skills : Experience with welding (MIG, arc, etc.) related to equipment repairs and installations.
Crane & Equipment Operation : Experience with overhead cranes and related equipment, as well as the ability to operate all machinery involved in maintenance and installation tasks.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and perform repairs in confined spaces beneath machinery.
Safety & Compliance : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adhere to safety protocols when operating power-driven equipment. Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to comply with safety regulations.
Communication Skills : Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions and to collaborate with other maintenance personnel to address more complex issues.
Working Conditions:
This position may expose you to various environmental conditions, including weld smoke, grinding dust, loud noises, and extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
The role requires frequent bending, stooping, and physical labor, with the ability to work under challenging physical conditions.
