Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) shall provide selected physical therapy interventions only under the supervision and direction of a physical therapist. The PTA uses exercise and modalities in the treatment of pain and movement disorders to help restore normal movement and function in accordance to the physician's referral.

- Provides services in compliance with all state and federal laws governing the hospital's operations.
- Consistently maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer or other information, which might jeopardize the privacy of others.
- Works as a team member to meet patient and departmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
- Education:Graduate of an APTA approved School for Physical Therapy Assistants. Completes annual educational requirements.
- Preferred Experience:One (1) year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience. Experience working with diverse populations including inpatient acute care, outpatient adult care, outpatient pediatrics, wound care, home health, and skilled nursing.
- License(s):Current State of Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant License in good standing.
- Certification(s):Valid driver's license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation is required if assigned to Home Care Services.
Internal Hires:Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
