Maui Oil Inc. is looking for a results-oriented Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO) to lead the talented team of representatives, and drive/manage sales across all company profit centers to meet volume and gross profit objectives for the Bulk Fuel, Cardlock, Lubricants, DEF and Materials and Equipment. The CSMO builds and manages supplier relationships, while leading the marketing efforts for all companies, creates/executes sales plans which identify the products (what we sell), pricing (how much we sell it for), place (where we sell it) and promotion (getting the word out). This position will be responsible for brand management, providing input into the digital marketing efforts, websites, social media, and portions of customer portal that are assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Sales and client relationships:

  • Cultivate and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers, fortheir fuel and lubricant needs.
  • Prepares and executes annual sales and marketing business plans.
  • Manage, motivates, guides and empowers the sales team through coaching and co-selling in all markets in Hawaii and the Pacific to meet individual and collective goals.
  • Directs/oversees all sales team members pipelines, activity reports, performance objectives, ensures adequate product knowledge, and trains on sales techniques. Ensures the sales team compliance with all company policies and procedures, values and safety. Collaborates with Human Resources on employee issues or concerns.
  • Provide recommendations on commendations, salary adjustments, staffing changes, participate in the interview and selection process of new team members.
  • Overall management of tools and sales systems, including CRM.
  • Provides input on the customer portal system on functionality that affects customers.
  • Manages the sales and marketing budget.
  • Responsible for managing the supplier relationships, including negotiating supply and pricing for fuels, lubricants, DEF and equipment. Ensures all bids, contracts and agreements are within the authorized price range.
  • Collaborates with all departments in providing sales and marketing information and an overall positive and safe customer experience.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and growth opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships within the industry, community and within the organization.
  • Participates in community functions and represents management at various business functions as needed.

-Market Trends and Analysis:Research the market including the competitive landscape, gather intelligence, identify new business opportunities, trends, regulatory changes that may impact business, and ways to increase business growth. Provides sales data and reports to the Executive team such as forecasts, actual against plan, customer volume sold and margin information.

-Marketing: Leads the Marketing efforts and is responsible for brand management. -Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Education and Experience: -Education: Must have a BS or BA in Business, Engineering, or qualifying business experience. Five (5) plus years of past management experience in leading a small team is required. -Management and Leadership Skill: Comfortable and competent in leading a team of sales and marketing professionals in a competitive environment. Must be a forward thin er and comfortable in face-to-face interactions with the ability to coach, educate, direct, redirect and be a cheerleader. -Industry Knowledge and Experience: Knowledgeable about the commercial fuel and lubricants industry, preferably with prior work experience having worked in or around petroleum wholesale marketers. -Experienced Seller and Sales Manager: Strong growth bias, tenacity, and experienced in selling and in leading a sales team, with focus on acquiring and maintaining long-term relationships and contributing to an increasing flow of gross profit. Thorough understanding of the sales process, excellent leadership skills and a strong customer focus to deliver sales results through team members. -Experienced Communicator/Facilitator/Collaborator: Must be articulate with competent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate an understanding of local cultural knowledge and sensitivity. Emotional intelligence will assist in leading the team, working with other departments and facilitating business growth. Must be able to build and maintain positive business relationships. -Computer / Data / IT Skill: Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, particularly Advanced MS Excel. Able to manipulate data files for analysis and reporting using Pivot tables, VLookup functions, IF functions, macros as needed to produce the desired information from a data file. Able to work with databases to data to actionable information. Experience with CRM and Petroleum back-office systems is a plus. -Action Bias: Demonstrates a strong bias toward action and getting things done quickly, thoroughly, either personally or through delegation. -Influence Competencies: Ability to employ a variety of means to gain agreement, initiative, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. -Customer service: Active listener. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT THAT MAY BE USED: This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in the field, and uses standard office equipment such as phone, copy, scan equipment, fax, computer, printer. May operate small hand tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work will be both in an office environment and in sellers and customers locations.
