SAIC Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Instructor Planner in KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany
Description
SAIC is seeking a Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Planner / Instructor to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners facilitating all-domain Warfighter training across the full spectrum of conflict.
This role of this position is to facilitate the development, validation, rehearsal, and instruction of Counterair and Joint IAMD design, command & control, and tactics spanning the United States European Command (USEUCOM) and United States Africa Command (USAFRICA) Areas of Responsibility.
The Joint IAMD Planner/Instructor will:
Develop, refine, and teach USEUCOM, USAFRICOM, U-A, and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Joint IAMD training requirements.
Support the planning, execution, and assessment of Counterair and Joint IAMD exercises and events:
Develop and assist in generating Joint IAMD mission planning materials and documentation related to Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) European Theater Operations (ETO) efforts.
Assist in development of relevant LVC scenarios to exercise Joint IAMD concepts, plans, procedures, and systems.
Provide technical assistance to plan and organize efforts in support of operations and scenarios to include airspace management, air defense, coalition integration, sensor system management, and data link operations.
Coordinate with appropriate operational subject matter experts and assist with the development of training objectives and scenarios to validate emerging Joint IAMD threats and capabilities.
Provide advisory support to UAWC and U-A Staff in the following domains: Defensive Counterair, Joint IAMD, Air Defense, Missile Defense, Global Missile Defense, Theater Ballistic Missile Defense, Air Base Air Defense, Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CsUAS).
Qualifications
Required Experience/Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen and Active U.S. Secret security clearance, eligible for Top Secret / SCI
A master's degree plus 10 years of recent IAMD experience, OR;
A bachelor's degree plus 18 years of recent IAMD experience, OR;
22 years of recent IAMD experience
Graduate of a Service Component Basic Instructor Course or demonstrated experience as an instructor.
Familiarity with: Defensive Counterair, Joint IAMD, Air Defense, Missile Defense, Global Missile Defense, Theater Ballistic Missile Defense, Air Base Air Defense, Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CsUAS).
Experience on a General/Flag Officer staff conducting analysis & planning, preparing decision papers & briefs, and engaging in technical and operational discussions with high-ranking military and government officials.
High level of proficiency using MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Desired Experience/Qualifications :
· Experience in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) exercising Theater Operations Plans and Contingency Plans.
Graduate of a service component advanced weapons school (US Air Force Weapons School, US Navy Integrated Air and Missile Defense WTI Integration Course (IWIC), or US Army Patriot Top Gun Course.
Previous qualification as a US Army Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer (ADAFCO), Upper-Tier/Layer Coordination Officer (UTCO/ULCO), Missile Defense Watch Officer, US Navy Tactical Action Officer (TAO).
Experience working in a Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Working Group.
Experience integrating Joint IAMD models and simulations in a Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environment.
Expected Salary Range - Highly dependent on candidate qualifications.
· $110,000 - $180,000/year
