Material Processor/Material Supply Manager - Kaiserslautern

IDS International is seeking a Material Processor/Material Supply Manager (MSM) to support the “Total Maintenance Contract for the Kaiserslautern Military Community.” The MSM is responsible for ordering and receiving site construction materials and maintaining accountability of all received materials. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a computerized database system for accomplishing parts and material purchases.

  • Develop and implement purchasing policy for review by the Project Manager.

  • Review and evaluate all purchase requests for complete and accurate information.

  • Track progress of materials/purchase requests to completion.

  • Keep management advised of long-lead issues on critical materials.

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient positive relations.

  • Coordinate with vendors concerning prioritization of ordered materials.

  • Plan and implement purchasing strategies and activities consistent with the overall aims and requirements of the contract.

  • Track on-hand stock levels and determine re-order points for all recurring purchase items.

  • Conduct periodic inventory of all DI assets.

  • Organize and manage purchase and inventory files.

  • Supervise Local National purchasing staff.

  • Perform a monthly inventory of the site’s materials and constantly communicate with the Project Manager to ensure all material is on hand or ordered in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or Foreign Country Equivalent.

Language Requirements:

  • English and German at level 4 proficiency: At this level an employee is required to possess a high degree of proficiency in both written and spoken English, including the ability to translate the host country language into precise and correct English, and English into the applicable foreign language. On occasion, an employee at this level might be expected to act as an interpreter in situations where considerable importance attaches to proper word meaning.

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
