U.S. Marine Corps ASSET PROTECTION ASSOCIATE NF2* (RFT) MCX RETAIL SECURITY in Kaneohe, Hawaii

Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Responsibilities Performs assignments on a patrol basis or at fixed post, with responsibility for enforcing security measures. Patrolling areas may include exchange facilities, retail store, warehouse and/or other buildings under MCCS jurisdiction. Monitors customer pick up at Retail Warehouse(s) to verify purchase, conduct quality control and inspection of receipt to merchandise, maintains records of customer pick up documentation and ensure all documents are correctly completed by associates and customer. Maintains safety standards for team members and customers. Monitors through surveillance equipment assigned area by checking for breaches of security such as unauthorized personnel, shoplifting, attempted entries or other acts affecting the security of the facilities. Makes periodic reports concerning the security and advises supervisor and/or other designated individual of any unusual occurrences. Issues keys, and vendor badges in and out. Prepares statements, reports concerning unusual incidents, and maintains vendor/ visitor/ employee/ key logs. May be asked to assist in final disposition (destruction and disposal) of surveyed (credited) merchandise to ensure fulfillment of manufacturer/ vendor retail agreement. Controls personnel access by checking identification to ensure only authorized persons are permitted on the premises. May inspect the contents of packages, lunch boxes and other containers being removed from the buildings to ensure only authorized items are being removed. As assigned, checks and tests alarms to ensure they are working properly. May be asked to be posted in door areas to provide a physical security presence as well as respond to security alarms at the front doors. Seeks assistance in life threatening emergencies, or in unusual situations. Contacts law enforcement personnel for dispatch to emergency situations. Protects scene of incident and passes control to law enforcement officers. May be required to appear and testify in court or at hearings concerning security cases. Provides Meaningful Connections Through Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher- level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Assist in the evacuation of building in the event evacuation is required. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. This is a mixed position where theincumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. May perform work that poses physical demands beyond normal requirements. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates skill in applying security techniques and methods. Ability to protect property from theft, trespass, damage and destruction, and to patrol assigned areas by foot or vehicle. Knowledge of how to prepare reports of incidents and security conditions. Skill to communicate effectively and apply physical security techniques and methods under various security situations. Valid driver’s license. Safety shoes will be required.
