PMC is looking for afull time, day shiftCertified Surgical First Assist (CSFA). The position of Surgical First Assistant reports to the Clinical Supervisor Surgical Services in the Surgery department/unit at Providence Medical Center. The mission of the Surgery Department is to provide a 24/7 high touch, high tech and efficient environment for our patients requiring elective, urgent or emergent surgical intervention. Responsibilities

We want a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) who is empathetic and has good communication skills. We have a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes, opportunities for professional growth and so much more. Our Certified First Assist duties include but are not limited to:
assist surgeons with tasks such as making incisions, placing clamps, and closing surgical sites
providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures
responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
maintaining sterile field during case
able to work well under stressful and emergency situations
able to act quickly and accurately
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
certification in Surgical Technology/Certified First Assistant
successful completion of a training program in a recognized First Assistant program
five years’ experience in an acute care operating room in the scrub role, preferred
must be proficient in the following specialties: major vascular, thoracic
current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
basic computer skills.
