Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Air Quality Project Manager to manage air permitting and compliance services to the power, industrial, commercial, transportation and manufacturing industries. The Environmental Air Specialist / Project Manager will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:
Prepare air permit application packages and associated documentation.
Conduct environmental site assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state and federal air quality requirements.
Calculate and estimate routine emissions, greenhouse gases, maintenance, start-up and shutdown emissions.
Work with clients and team members to manage projects, budgets and timelines.
Assist with multi-media-based questions and document preparation, such as Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention,
Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and filings pursuant to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related Science or Engineering degree from an accredited program plus minimum 7 years (10 years preferred) of applicable experience.
Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
Previous consulting experience related to air pollution permitting and compliance and/or multimedia environmental compliance audits, environmental management systems, and report writing preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, including New Source Review/Prevention of Significant Deterioration, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, New Source Performance Standards, Title V Permitting, Title VI Ozone Depleting Substances.
Working knowledge of air quality dispersion models such as AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, VISCREEN, PLUVUE and SLAB is a plus.
Sustainability background is a plus.
Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.
Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
