Heavy Industrial Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Assembler to join our team. This role involves disassembly, cleaning, requalification, rework, and assembly operations on Traction Motor Combo components. You will use both manual and automated equipment in accordance with quality procedures. You will also inspect completed work on components to ensure compliance with internal quality or engineering requirements. The position requires safe work practices in support of lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S or single-piece flow to the required takt time. Some tasks may involve special processes like welding or non-destructive testing, which will require additional training or certification.
Responsibilities
Disassemble, clean, requalify, rework, and assemble Traction Motor Combo components.
Utilize manual and automated equipment to perform tasks according to quality procedures.
Inspect completed work for compliance with internal inspection criteria and quality or engineering requirements.
Perform work safely and adhere to lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and single-piece flow.
Operate crane assist within the first 30 days of employment; certification will be provided if necessary.
Potentially engage in special processes such as welding or non-destructive testing, pending additional training or certification.
Essential Skills
Experience in assembly and mechanical assembly.
Knowledge of schematic and industrial assembly processes.
Ability to work with heavy industry equipment and perform heavy labor.
Experience in operating heavy equipment and cranes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in true assembly or mechanic roles.
Overhead crane experience is a plus but not mandatory; certification will be provided.
Work Environment
The role involves working with heavy equipment and performing tasks that require significant physical effort. You will be operating crane assist equipment, with training and certification provided as necessary. The work environment supports lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and single-piece flow, and you will be expected to follow safety protocols diligently.
