Position Introduction

FirstService Project Management (FSPM) - Strategic Planning & Project Management Division is motivated to hire an experienced Insurance Claim Specialist with a proven track record of strong business partnerships and successfully managed projects.

Job Responsibilities

FirstService Residential manages over 250 residential homeowners’ associations in the greater Kansas City area. FirstService Project Management (FSPM) is currently overseeing and managing 12 projects totaling $20MM in capital expenses.

Â

FSPMis an in-house, full-service project management team exclusive to properties managed by FirstService Residential. FSPM is a strategic alliance leveraging our relationship with engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers to deliver a first-in class solution-based approach including cost savings and efficiencies back to the association. The FSPM Team provides support to the association Property Manager by assigning a designated Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator. This assigned Project Manager will oversee quality control of all contractors and subcontractors throughout all phases of the project (scheduling, estimating, procuring andconstruction). The Project Coordinator will work closely with the on-site team to understand and effectively communicate timely information relative to the impact and disruption that may be experienced by the residents. This includes producing weekly resident updates to be shared with the property manager so that the residents can stay informed throughout the entire project. The FSPM Team’s Project Management services continually protect the Association’s best interests throughout the entire construction process.

We essentially, run projects from concept to completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Project planning abilities
  • Budget and finance management experience
  • Prepare regular communication status updates and presentation materials for the client, senior management and the Property Manager on all aspects of the project; including timelines, accomplishments, adjustments, key risks and issues

INDUSTRY/FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Condo/HOA property management preferred; multi-family rental or commercial an asset

  • Software expertise – (i.e. Microsoft Projects, Procore, Trello, Xactmate, etc.)

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.        Â

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, travel to and from these locations, work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Â

The employee must be able to use a computer keyboard, and mouse, and must have hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. The employee must have fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally, and have a working knowledge of building codes and standard practices.

The employee must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and carry the minimum essential insurance coverage as defined by the state. The employee must not have a record of a revoked or suspended license as determined upon review of the motor vehicle driving report or record in accordance with applicable law.Â
