Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Lean Engineer to join our Boart Longyear team in Katy Wroclawskie, Poland. The Lean Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining Lean manufacturing principles and practices within Boart Longyear. This role will focus on driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean methodologies, a keen eye for identifying improvement opportunities, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in achieving project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Lean improvement projects across various departments to drive operational excellence.

  • Conduct thorough analyses of current processes and identify areas for improvement using Lean tools and techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.

  • Develop and implement standardized work procedures, visual management systems, and other Lean manufacturing tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements that enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

  • Monitor and report on the progress of Lean initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

  • Support the development and maintenance of metrics to track performance improvements and sustain gains.

  • Identify and eliminate waste in all forms, including overproduction, waiting time, transportation, excess inventory, motion, and defects.

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in Poland

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

  • Must be Proficient in English, Fluent in Polish

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement role.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles and tools such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and Six Sigma.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing Lean projects in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex processes to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
