The CNC Swiss Lathe Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Swiss lathes to produce precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes, be detail-oriented, and capable of ensuring product quality through regular inspection and adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes according to job specifications and blueprints.
- Program and make adjustments to CNC machine controls as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot mechanical and program issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect and measure finished products to maintain quality control standards, using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and achieve production targets.
- Document machine settings, production data, and quality inspection reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certifications or an associate degree in machining or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating CNC Swiss lathes (e.g., Citizen, Tsugami, Star).
- Strong understanding of CNC programming (G-code) and machine setup.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety practices.
