To quote a popular saying at TNC, "you'll join for the mission, and you'll stay for the people."WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHERThe GDEI Strategist reports to the Global Diversity Equity & Inclusion (GDEI) Office and serves a crucial role in guiding teams across The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in actionably incorporating diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) into their team and business unit plans and operations. Along with other GDEI team members, the Strategist will provide consultative support to help areas of the organization identify opportunities and needs related to DEIJ, then determine actions to incorporate into operational strategies/priorities. This role of acting as an internal consultant includes collaborating with departments and areas of subject matter expertise enterprise-wide to help align and enable related efforts.The GDEI Strategist will provide strategic guidance and support to TNC teams. The Stategist will work with client groups across the organization to help incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice into their individual, team, and BU plans and operations. The Strategist consults as a DEI generalist, helping teams connect with additional relevant colleagues to support tailored needs. They will work on matters where analysis of situations or data may lead to recommendations that require introducing new or modified strategies, knowledge/skills, staff, structure, and/or the application of organizational development and change management techniques. The Strategist will assist in the development of and support for short-term tactical solutions while helping to develop long-term improvement strategies. They will maintain knowledge in the strategies, plans, communications, systems and resources managed by teams and how DEIJ can be intentionally incorporated to strengthen teams' efforts.WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUAre you looking for work you can believe in? We're looking for someone with strong experience in leading a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.The ideal candidate should have experience working in a complex matrixed organization. The position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:Business Needs Assessment: Partner with global teams to assess and understand the specific DEI needs and goals of various business units (BUs), ensuring alignment with The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) Global DEI strategy.Data-Driven Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of BU performance, DEI metrics, industry trends, and competitive benchmarks to inform strategic recommendations.Strategic DEI Solutions: Develop and propose strategic DEI solutions aimed at enhancing the performance, inclusivity, and competitiveness of each BU. These strategies will align with both DEI and business objectives.Implementation and Monitoring: Lead the implementation of DEI initiatives, monitoring results, and evaluating effectiveness to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved. Adjust strategies and provide ongoing support where necessary.Facilitate Change Management: Assist with organizational change and restructuring to better integrate DEI into processes, workplace practices, and policies. Support BU leaders in managing the human aspects of change.Presenting Proposals: Prepare and present comprehensive DEI proposals, reports, and presentations to BU leadership and stakeholders, ensuring clarity in communication and action plans.Resource and Budget Management Advice: Provide guidance on effective resource management, cost reduction, and budget control within the scope of DEI projects and initiatives.Training and Capacity Building: Train and guide staff on the adoption of new DEI strategies, tools, and procedures to ensure their successful integration into day-to-day operations.Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. Ensure continuous engagement to foster long-term success of DEI initiatives.Leadership and Team Coordination: Serve as a key player in cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts between departments to ensure cohesive and impactful DEI execution across TNC.Problem Solving and Independence: Independently identify and address complex challenges, using sound judgment to propose innovative solutions that align with organizational goals.Confidentiality and Sensitivity: Maintain sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential and complex information related to DEI issues.Client Management and Negotiation: Manage multiple complex accounts or BU relationships, participating in negotiations and strategic discussions to advance DEI initiatives.WHAT YOU'LL BRINGMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination;Experience leading and implementing multiple projects;Experience with business process improvement and management;Experience with current and evolving technology and tools related to business process management;Experience working with teams across an organization; andExperience, coursework, or other training in principles, practices, and procedures of relevant field.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated;3 years of experience in process improvement, including one year in a lead role;2 or more years of project management experience, ideally directing process initiatives in both short and long lifecycles;1 or more years of business requirements and analyst experience;Ability to work in partnership with all levels of staff in a collaborative or advisory role;Advanced knowledge of current and evolving trends in business process, organizational change management, and process management tools;Advanced proficiency in interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results;Demonstrated ability to conceptualize new processes and effectively communicate benefits; and/orStrong organization skills, time management, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to multi-taskExperience in Business/Management ConsultingWHAT WE BRINGSince 1951, TNC has been doing work you can believe in. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
