A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Fort Worth, TX area. This role involves ing scientific and engineering principles to develop and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while managing project timelines and budgets.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Develops understanding of process and equipment functions within the area of responsibility.

  • Industrializes and updates manufacturing platforms to address safety, performance, quality issues, and operational costs.

  • Creates project plans and timelines to achieve goals while adhering to safety and quality guidelines.

  • Develops work plans and schedules that align with overall project objectives.

  • Directs initial equipment setup and debugging until turnover to operations.

  • Creates and utilizes mechanical, electrical, and process startup checklists and documentation, directing technicians as needed.

  • Provides troubleshooting support during equipment installation and startup, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Skills:

  • Background in equipment design using Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling tools, knowledge of drafting standards.

  • Familiarity with applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA) and ensures compliance, incorporating safety and risk analysis into designs.

  • Communicates effectively to provide necessary information to project teams.

  • Ensures quality and repeatability of processes and products.

  • Able to function in mechanical technology or multi-disciplinary roles, collaborating with other disciplines to understand manufacturing system functionality and design requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.

  • 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment with process and automation equipment.
