Position Purpose:

  • Operate and Maintain plastics processing equipment such as injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment used for material handling, assembly, treatment, and packaging.

  • Use skills in a range of areas such as plastic processing, equipment operation and adjustment, mechanical maintenance, and basic electrical maintenance.

  • Plan work using different forms of verbal, written, and graphical instructions or requirements

Position Duties:

  • Setup and maintain molding machines and specified auxiliary equipment to meet production quality and quantity requirements.

  • Connects basic plant services as needed to meet production requirements and makes initial checks of operating conditions before initiating production runs.

  • Complete complex job changes on molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

  • Assist in cleaning and lubrication of equipment and tooling and performs various preventative maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Inspect equipment, either when operating or idle, to diagnose and troubleshoot processing, programming, mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical problems.

  • Monitors process and makes appropriate adjustments to variables in order to insure production quality and quantity requirements.

  • Makes or assist in completing needed adjustments and/or repairs on all molding machines and auxiliary equipment to correct issues causing production difficulties and prevent reoccurrence.

  • Uses and maintains a range of written information and reports. Interprets quality reports specifying defects in ware, observes and inspects ware being made, uses inspection and measuring instruments, and determines and implements adjustments required to eliminate defects.

  • Records specified information and data of machine operation on record sheets as required using a computer based or paper based reporting system.

  • Determines method and sequence of tool and hand operations to achieved desired production requirements.

  • Selects and uses appropriate equipment, tools, materials, and work methods based on an understanding of the production task to be performed and the customer requirements.

  • Provide broad support for plant operations on shifts when other technical or leadership support is unavailable.

  • Coordinates general production activity on weekends and during other periods of partial leadership coverage.

  • Assumes other responsibilities and performs miscellaneous duties to support department and plant operations.

  • Maintains good housekeeping conditions in working area, complies with all safety expectations, and observes safe work practices.

  • May perform other duties as needed.

The range for this position is ​$26.80 hourly rate - $31.90 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
