Cummins Inc. Engine Field Service Technician in Kenner, Louisiana
DESCRIPTION
Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site.
We are looking for an experienced Diesel engine field service technician to join our team at our Kenner (Louisiana) location.
This is a field service position working on heavy duty, high horsepower and marine mid-range engines. This is a customer facing role with on-call rotation every few weeks.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Identifies additional service opportunities with customer.
Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
Technician Level II : Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.
5000$ Sign-on bonus available for this position

RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permitThis position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Hold or maintain clean driving record.
