Wolters Kluwer Director, Product Software Engineering - Firm Intelligence in Kennesaw, Georgia
DXG Tax & Accounting North America is seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Director to lead our groundbreaking initiative in integrating generative AI capabilities into our CCH Axcess product suite. This senior-level position will spearhead the development and implementation of an AI orchestration infrastructure, potentially leveraging Microsoft Semantic Kernel and its plugins, to create a cutting-edge tax market centric AI experience integrated with CCH Axcess, Office 365, and potentially other products. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration and strong leadership skills to drive innovation and deliver high-impact results for Tax & Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of a scalable and robust AI orchestration infrastructure
Develop and implement an architecture and delivery strategy for Firm Intelligence, ensuring scalability, performance, and resilience
Lead the formation and management of a development team, including both US and India-based staff, contractors, and FTEs
Design and oversee the integration of the AI orchestrator and any of its plugins with existing products and systems
Bootstrap and collaborate with product teams and User Experience teams to create and implement plugins for CCH Axcess, Office 365, and other relevant applications
Establish best practices, coding standards, and development processes aligned with SAFe Agile principles
Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with overall business objectives
Manage the transition of plugin ownership to respective application/product teams over time
Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI and machine learning technologies, particularly in the field of generative AI
Collaborate fundamentally with the DXG AIML Center of Excellence to optimize governance approaches for the enterprise
Work closely with GBS and CIO teams to implement relevant, scalable operational and security practices
Ensure all development efforts align with enterprise-wide AI governance and security standards
Manage dependencies across multiple teams and projects, ensuring smooth execution and delivery
Drive the delivery of highly resilient, available transactional applications at scale
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred
12+ years of software development experience, with at least 8 years in a senior role
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale software projects in enterprise environments
Experience with .NET framework, C# programming language, Azure, and cloud-native architectures
Understanding of Microsoft Semantic Kernel, Azure AI services, and plugin architectures
Strong background in software architecture principles, design patterns, and microservices architecture
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and creatively
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
Extensive experience with SAFe Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
Proven ability to build, lead, and manage high-performing, diverse technical teams across multiple locations and employment types
Strong project management skills, including dependency management and risk mitigation
Experience in delivering highly resilient, available transactional applications at scale
Preferred Skills
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs)
Familiarity with CCH Axcess, Office 365, or similar enterprise software ecosystems
Experience with API design and management in large-scale distributed systems
Background in developing AI-powered solutions for business applications
Experience collaborating with enterprise-level teams on large-scale technology initiatives
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the context of AI and data management
