Cadwell Industries Senior Hardware Design Engineer in Kennewick, Washington

 

 

 

Position Summary: The Senior Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for leading hardware project requirements, such as design, implementation, test, development, debug, and documentation for Cadwell product lines of Class I and II medical devices. Monitors progress of hardware tasks against plan, and reports status and resolution on project issues for hardware applications. Serves as mentor to hardware engineers. This is an onsite position in Kennewick, WA. 

*Key Duties / Responsibilities: *

  • Maintain existing hardware applications for Cadwell products, develop new features of existing applications, and design new applications
  • Design embedded digital systems, low level analog circuits, DC-DC power converters, and high voltage circuits
  • Develop test procedures for system production checkout, circuit boards, and service troubleshooting and repair, which can be used in the verification and calibration of Cadwell instruments
  • Analyze results, problem areas and designs; perform root-cause analysis; and direct and apply corrective actions
  • Provide documentation of hardware modules and projects in accordance with Company hardware document control policies, and ensuring compliance with federal and international regulations
  • Participate in engineering project teams, as a dependable and effective member, meeting deliverables and deadlines
  • Lead the hardware process development work, including producing estimates, tracking project execution, communicating status, and conducting project reviews with management and the team, to ensure the design and related requirements are up-to-date, and applications are executed to Company standards
  • Lead engineering project teams, responsible for tracking execution, delivering results and holding participants accountable
  • Participate in technical presentations to both small and large groups
  • Identify and document intellectual property, and prepare related paperwork for submission to protect through the patent process 
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to electrical/hardware engineers
  • Identify ways to enhance Cadwell equipment with new tools, processes, or techniques
  • Maintain current knowledge on industry trends, technical developments and state-of-the-art product offerings in Cadwell target markets, and research and utilize best practices to complete projects and assignments
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design required
  • 5+ years of digital and analog design experience at Cadwell, or equivalent experience in medical design engineering related to the production of electronic products 
  • Experience in technical writing of production and test documentation that meets ISO 13485 is required

*Job Knowledge / Requirements: *

In-depth experience with hardware engineering fundamentals, including electronics, electronic design, networking, protocols, circuitry, CAD, and related programming; Attention to detail a must

Project lead experience in defining, developing, executing, documenting hardware test plans and procedures

Complete work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed

Competency in computer skills: MS Office and Google applications, query tools, and database systems, and Engineering applica
