Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contractual position at our manufacturing company in Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role also includes creating financial reports and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
Responsibilities:
Preparing financial statements and reports, including the monthly and annual accounts.
Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly end close processes.
Maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts.
Assist with audits and taxes.
Preparing analysis of accounts as requested.
Assisting with budget preparations.
Conducting regular ledger and bank reconciliations.
Monitoring bank deposits and payments.
Assisting with inventory controls.
Assisting in streamlining and improving the accounting process.
Ensuring compliance with state revenue service requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or equivalent, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
Working knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Expertise in MS Excel and familiarity with relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks).
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong numerical skills, business acumen, and an analytical mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, with tight deadlines.
Familiarity with financial regulations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
