Then join us as a: Principal Facilities, Maintenance & EHS Engineer in Kerkrade.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

  • Coordinate and execute maintenance-, calibration- and repair activities for all on-site equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and other facilities

  • Develop and deploy Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs in compliance with Medtronic policies and regulatory agencies

  • Develop and deploy security and business continuity programs in compliance with Medtronic policies

  • Schedule and assign all maintenance-, calibration- and repair actions to on-site Facilities and EHS staff and act as central point of contact for all stakeholders

  • Manage on-site Safety Team and Emergency Response Team

  • Manage and execute improvement projects and workshops

  • Document maintenance-, calibration- and repair procedures and train staff accordingly

  • Coordinate, report and follow-up on safety Gemba walks and troubleshooting activities

  • Design, implement and execute structures for Maintenance Excellence and EHS Excellence, aligned with Medtronic Performance System (MPS)

  • Develop and practice effective performance management, in line with locally deployed Tier management structures

  • Continuously improve data analysis methods and apply stakeholder-focused data visualization

  • Deploy Computerized Maintenance Management System and Environmental, Health and Safety Management System

  • Setup, maintain and coordinate network of third-party service providers

  • Prepare capital investment business cases and coordinate investment review process

  • Assure continuous alignment with regional Facilities management, regional EHS management, regional Security management and regional Business Continuity management

  • Represent local entity towards local municipalities and regulatory agencies for all Facilities-, Maintenance- and EHS topics

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • 15+ years of work experience in similar roles in a production environment

  • Strong knowledge of equipment- and machinery maintenance in regulated manufacturing industries

  • Advanced skills in facility management

  • Strong affinity with Environmental, Health and Safety best practices, preferable knowledge of related legislation

  • Strong affinity with Information Technology systems

  • Demonstrable successes in deploying continuous improvement structures and Maintenance Excellence

  • Excellent coordinating- and prioritizing expertise

  • Project management Skills: exceed expectations and deliver on Time

  • Good documenting, reporting, and presentation skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Office 365, EHS-management software and service ticketing applications

  • Affinity with the medical devices industry

  • Strong proficiency in Dutch and English (oral and written)

  • Willingness to incidentally (< 5%) travel internationally to other Medtronic locations for best practice sharing and trainingPreferably a Lean Six Sigma green or black belt and some knowledge of process digitization
