The main responsibilities for the Accounting Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Confirm company policy is followed to ensure that all payable invoices are properly coded for general ledger codes.

  • Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly and determine the appropriate accounting entries for reconciliation under review with Controller.

  • Obtain proper approvals on all invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports.

  • Process employee expense reports.

  • Responsible for supervision of Accounts Receivable Clerk and Accounts Payable Clerk: Review and ensure accuracy of the AR and AP functions including, but not limited to: vendor invoices to be paid according to remittance terms negotiated with the vendor by the Purchasing Department, outstanding checks are reviewed monthly and stop payments are issued accordingly, 1099 preparation, credit management, payment processing, account reconciliation, etc.

  • Review and properly code monthly P-card statements for accuracy of reporting and spending limits.

  • Maintain paper and electronic records per ITW records retention policy.

  • Maintain quarterly analysis of sales manager’s travel compared to plan numbers.

  • Prepare and enter journal entries for monthly close.

  • Analyze financial information for audit purposes and financial reporting.

  • Complete required tax reporting.

  • Assist with monthly reporting requirements.

  • Assist with preparation of annual operating plan and long-range plan (LRP).

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Texwipe product lines and manufacturing processes, including material content and manufacturing department functions.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of all Texwipe information systems, which support cost accounting and manufacturing. Specific system modules which would be understood including but are not limited to: Bill of Materials, Routing, Inventory, Product Data Mgt., Cost Accounting, Product Costing Module, Purchasing, and TMS.

  • Work as a consultant & partner with project managers to collect & present all necessary information for:o Front to Back Toolbox Projects à Also responsible for tracking, auditing, and reporting.o Strategic Sourcing à Also responsible for auditing and reporting.

  • Follow record retention requirements as outlined in SOPs

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance with proficiency in spreadsheet analysis.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated analytical ability & success with cross-functional projects.

  • Ability to develop & implement process improvements.

  • Comfort with strong Excel tools: Sumif, Pivot Tables, Vlookup.Multi-task and work under time constraints

  • Ability to prioritize workload

  • Must be organized and pay attention to detail.

  • Proficient in data entry and management.

  • Positive attitude, self-starter, independent, & team player.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business literature and financial reports.

  • Ability to write financial reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives and managers.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management at the corporate office and all manufacturing sites by oral and written means.
