Mechanical Designer (King of Prussia)

Kelly Engineering is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer/CAD (Designer) Tech to support our clients team in King of Prussia, PA. You will be responsible for translating conceptual designs into accurate technical drawings, collaborating with engineers, architects, and designers to create precise and visually drawings that adhere to project specifications and industry standards.

Role is a Contract without an end date. Client would prefer someone long-term that may be a permanent hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and modify detailed drawings and assembly documents using SolidWorks from models, sketches, layouts, and notes provided by the Mechanical Engineering team (the right 3D CAD person that does not know Solidworks will be a great candidate as well).

Generate, maintain, and process Bills of Material (BOM) documentation.

Incorporate revisions into existing drawings, BOMs and documents.

Assign part numbers for drawings, BOMS, and documents.

Work with engineers regarding drawing/document accuracy, drafting standards, and notations.

Distribute drawings to internal and external teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field preferred.

3+ years’ related experience.

Competent and Proficient in CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, Creo, Catia, Siemens NX CAD).Experience with SolidWorks is preferred, but not required.

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools for releasing technical documentation a strong plus. Windchill experience is preferred, but not required.

Ideal candidate will be local to King of Prussia. Role will be on-site for the first month and then there will be opportunity for hybrid work after that.
