Kingman Unified School District invites you to apply for this full-time Lee Williams High School Counselor position for the 2024-25 school year.
Summary/Objective
Advise and assist students and provide educational guidance services.
Essential Functions

- Respond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to job, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner.
- Assess and counsel students based on observations, conversations and test results.
- Provide support services in the areas of academic programs, team teaching, school rules, and other matters.
- Counsel individual students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their education.
- Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss childrens progress, resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems, and to determine priorities for students and their developmental needs.
- Provide crisis intervention to students when difficult situations occur.
- Refer severe problems to appropriate community resources.
- Provide personal counseling for students, families and groups relative to self-understanding, acceptance of responsibility, and decision-making skills.
- Provide group counseling to promote interaction and communication, and to support skill development.
- Prepare students for later educational experiences by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
- Administer tests in areas such as organization, memory skills, aptitude and preferences, as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations and rules
- Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
